Lots of happenings for the rest of the year!
Between solo acoustic performances & gigs with Ten Cent Men, there's a lot of good music ahead. I ain't done booking yet. Gonna try to fill in some more dates. Quite possibly an art show or two!
Greetings, Folks! Keep a-look out! February's comin' in hot! Ten Cent Men are shinin' up them saddles & gettin' ready to ride. Plus, a couple of great solo gigs a-comin' as well.
Taking the month of February to redesign here at Black Jackal Studio. New paint, new furniture & a whole new vibe. Coming back in late February at The Ravenswood Tavern for some day-drinking & in March rockin' it over to Machesney Park to play the great Pig Minds Brewing Company! Can't wait for this gig! Vanilla Bitch Slap is one of my top most favorite beers in the state. And then, ending the month back for another great day drinkin' performance at Lizard's Liquid Lounge on the 26th.
I'll be performing an acoustic set at Eat Paint Studios in Lincoln Square on Saturday, November 13th for the opening of Andrew Steiner's photography exhibit. It'll be a one hour set starting at 7:45pm sharp. The exhibition runs that night from 6pm - 9pm.

I'm super excited to announce my new recording project with my mate, Simon Maher (from UK bands The Faraway Tree & Head Back Holler) called The Transatlantic Blues Coalition. Our first offering is a cover of The Red Devils classic, "Devil Woman". I've been obsessing over this song from the first time I've heard it. While listening to it again in the fall of last year, I was thinking of a way to cover this jam. I knew only one guy that can sing it & blow some amazing harp on it. I put out an S.O.S. to my mate Simon in Salisbury & he leapt at the chance to collaborate & The Transatlantic Blues Coalition was born! So, over the Christmas/New Years break, I recorded all the parts in my home studio with the exception of the bass. I had to reach out to the great Tod Bowers of The Davy Knowles Band who put down some awesome bottom end for us. Then, sent Simon the track & he overdubbed his vocals & harmonica parts. Once I got his parts back, I put it all together, mixed & mastered it & finally, on Friday, June 4th, it will be ready for your listening pleasure on all music streaming outlets!
Stay tuned for our next project: A Chess Records Tribute Album!!

I'm super excited to have been tapped by the awesome Austin, Texas band Choctaw Wildfire to spearhead the cover art of their new album "Uh-Huh!".
Their sound is a bit New Orleans blues mixed with some down-the-road country. So, keeping in tradition of the Mardi Gras Indians, I gave them an electrified cover that will catch any eye from the merch table!
Look for their CD release on June 4th!!

I am releasing Wolf Ryot Star into the world. My new record of 12 songs recorded in my home studio, has been a labor of love for a long while. I've shelved it many of times, but I finally put my foot down & decided to clean 'em up, give 'em a good polish & put 'em out there. It's the first time I wore the "Producers" cap on this project & learned a bunch of great tips & tricks along the way. I definitely ain't no Glyn Johns & I'm sure to a professional's ear, there's gonna be some criticism. BUT, the songwriting IS pretty kick ass. So, I got that goin' for me. I also designed the artwork as well using one of my favorite Starburst pieces. I gotta tip my hat & raise a glass to Anthony Maietta of The Black Oil Brothers for his countless production guidance & instruction. And last but not least, my darlin' Rachel Jeanne who is probably just as sick of this record as I am. Luv Ya!
I hope y'all enjoy the noise.
I will have some canvas prints of my Starbursting series for sale on display at Transistor (5224 N. Clark St.) running through the summer.
